LAURA PATEFIELD, Certified level 2 CrossFit Trainer, Kettlebell Certified, CrossFit Kids Certified, Olympic Weightlifting Certified, and B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Cal State University Long Beach:

First and foremost I'm a mother of two beautiful, rambunctious boys.  When I'm not teaching a class I spend (most) my time trying to keep these little ones entertained!  Prior to marriage and children my love for fitness and nutrition influenced me to obtain a bachelor's of science degree in nutrition and dietetics at CSULB.  This degree has enabled me to assist individuals in attaining their nutrition and fitness goals which is incredibly rewarding.  My passion for CrossFit started about a year ago when I was at my brother's house watching him do the CrossFit workout of the day.  Needless to say I was floored and a little intimidated as well but when my sister decided she was going to give it a try there was no way I was going to be left out.  We can be a very competitive family, to say the least!  After 2 weeks of the WOD's I started to see results and I knew I was hooked.  I've never looked back.  CrossFit for me is my hobby and my sport.  I look forward to sharing my passion with you.

JEFF GORUMBA, Certified Level 2 CrossFit Trainer and Olympic Weightlifting Certified:

I’m 42 years old and have been doing Crossfit now exclusively for my training program for well over 2 years now. I was introduced to this program while living in Seattle and started in a garage with Michael Street a Crossfit affiliate and was blown away by his knowledge and ability to instruct. Because of this I didn’t care it was out of garage because I knew I would get the results I had been looking for and haven’t been able to attain despite hours at gyms, like  24 hour fitness, daily for nearly most of my adult life. Then a dear friend of mine for over a decade, Jason Culbreth, became a Crossfit affiliate and I was able to visit him in Raleigh N.C. after he established his Crossfit gym. Needless to say I was blown away by his facility in combination with his passion, motivation, as well as the power of the Crossfit program I had already experienced first hand myself. At that time I knew I wanted to get involved but even more so incorporate this program as a lifestyle rather than a hobby.   I served in the Army’s Special Operations my entire 14 year career after enlisting in August 1985. Following my military service I attended school at the University of Washington main campus in Seattle Washington completing my program. Upon graduation from school I moved on to my next chapter in life, the civilian workforce. Unfortunately, after living a life of such vast and exciting experiences as a Spec Ops soldier working in an office was extremely depressing and I could not live my life in this environment. Well, I suppose I could but I wouldn’t have been a happy man. So looking for a life that could perhaps parallel my military career I deployed to Baghdad, Iraq with a security contracting company named Triple Canopy, Inc. in early 2004 and I have been with this company ever since.  I am currently serving as Triple Canopy, Inc. lead firearms & defensive tactics instructor as well as assist in instruction with all of the other realms of security taught by our company to a myriad of clients (DOD, Department of State, Law Enforcement, our own operators, as well as others I’m not allowed to mention sssshhhhh).   Lastly, I have been a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-jitsu guy for many years I have been in & out due to injuries and competed in a variety of tournaments and I don’t remember any of them being easy. However, since I began Crossfit I have performed injury free and competed in the 2007 Pan Am Championships winning Gold in my division both for my weight (175lb) as well as the open weight class and winning Gold in my division and Silver in the open weight class at the 2007 Masters & Seniors Jiu Jitus Championship with all my wins by way of submission. Now, I have never done that before in any tourney let alone the Pan Ams and my greatest asset was my unrelenting push throughout every match watching my opponents fatigue while I only got stronger. It was all because of the Crossfit program that I have no doubt!

ROBBIE SCHULZ, Certified Level 1 CrossFit Trainer 1 and Olympic Lifting Certified:

I have been participating in sports and fitness activities for over 25 years. I am a competitive basketball player, not so competetive triathlete and an avid long distance trail runner. I have taught PE to elementary, Jr High and High School athletes and have been teaching strength training and personal training for 6 years. The combination of my interest in sports plus building strength create a superior combination for clients wanting a balanced workout or clients interested in supplementing their endurance activities with power/speed training and flexibility. Finding time for fitness isn’t always easy—which is why the concepts used in CrossFit personal training are ideal. A one hour session with me will include multi-joint strength development, speed, stamina and flexibility. Every session is unique, so boredom never stands a chance! I will help to make fitness a functional and successful part of your life.

Are you ready to make the commitment to improving your health? I am currently available Mon, Tues and Thursday mornings 10am-1pm and Monday & Fri's 4-6pm.
