I have always been an athlete. Growing up in Northern VA I played soccer, ran cross-country and track. I chose to forgo varsity soccer in college in favor of ROTC but I like to think still maintained my athlete status while serving in the Navy. It wasn’t until I became a stay-at-home mom that I felt like my athletic days my have passed. My motivation to get to the gym with two small children was low when all I had to look forward to was the treadmill and playing the occasional soccer game wasn’t keeping my fit. Enter crossfit. My husband and I found crossfit while looking for something we could do together. We were hooked immediately. Growing up playing sports left a deeply engrained competitive nature that crossfit has filled seamlessly. More than that though I love the crossfit community, it is like no other. The sense of accomplishment that you feel when you do something you never thought you could do is unparalleled and can be experienced by anyone who crossfits. Coaching gives me the opportunity to share in those accomplishments and I am excited to be part of the OCF team.
